The past
doesn't stay
buried.
Following a traumatic encounter with police, a Black man finds himself pulled back into the unresolved pain of his childhood. As memories surface and the weight of silence becomes harder to carry, he makes a choice rarely shown with honesty on screen: he seeks therapy.
Perdido is an intimate story about trauma, masculinity and mental health. It challenges the stigma surrounding therapy in Black communities and reminds us that asking for help is not weakness. It is the beginning of healing.
