Ali, an aspiring screenwriter from the South Side of Chicago, discovers a magical blue cave where the characters from his stories come to life. Inside, imagination offers him refuge and the freedom to become who he dreams of being.
But outside the cave, violent attacks from his stepfather and a neighborhood gang become increasingly dangerous. Ali must decide whether to stand against the forces closing in on him or risk losing his dream forever.
DRAMA
I wanted to tell a story about a young man whose dream gives him the strength not to surrender to the abuse around him. Dreams are powerful. We have to fight for them—and nurture them.
